Designed in the US (with the prints being hand drawn by the founder) and then made in Bali, Breakfast Swim is the new swimwear on the market with an epic twist.
On the hunt for a bikini that’s ethical and sustainable, as well reversible and full of different patterns? Then this new brand on the block ticks all your boxes.
The fabrics used are made from Econyl fibres which are 100% recycled fibres sourced from ghost fishing nets. However, the sustainability doesn’t finish with the fabric material itself. The hand drawn patterns are transferred onto the fabric using a digital printing method that uses vastly less water than the traditional methods of dying fabric and the bikini is reversible, meaning two bikini’s for the price of one.
What’s more is that Breakfast Swim ensures that their workers paid a fair and living wage. By offering a fair and living wage enables and empowers each individual to make a huge difference into their own lives (rather than only earning what the minimum wage is per country). The workers are also able to work at their own pace and set their own deadlines -something that is almost unheard of in the fashion industry.
Love what you see? You can be one of the first to invest in the future of Breakfast Swim! They are currently nearing the end of their kickstarter campaign -head on over and you can even snag yourself a discounted set that’s also helping to fund the business!
Ps. I’ve even been lucky enough to lock in an interview with the founder Katie -watch this space!
