“No two women are alike, so why should their clothing be?”
NATALIJA, the namesake label from Natalija Bouropoulos, is an Australian brand wholly focused on empowering women by providing them with eco-friendly, slowly-curated–and, in our opinion, completely exquisite–garments designed to stand the test of time.
The NATALIJA garments are “designed to inspire confidence”, and this runs through every aspect of the brand, from the way the pieces are made to the women who wear them. Not only does the 4 to 18 sizing make for an empowering and inclusive range, but the individuality of each piece allows the wearer to craft their own personal style. Even the profits are used to support women, as $1 from every NATALIJA purchase is put towards one of these three charities: Beyond Blue; Look Good Feel Good; and Dress For Success.
In her own effort to combat the excess waste brought about by garment creation, Natalija offers a personalised fit on each and every one of her made-to-order garments. You want the signature slip in a burnt orange? Easy peasy. You got a big bust but a tiny waist? No problemo. You would prefer the neckline to sit a little lower than usual? You go, girlfriend. Essentially, you can choose everything from the neckline and the fabric to the colour and the length, and your own little piece of personalised goodness will arrive within just two weeks of it being made.
Speaking of garment creation, all of the NATALIJA pieces are hand-made and made-to-order, and this slow and sustainable method of production is evident in both the quality of the garments and the low to no impact their creation has on the environment. As for the NATALIJA suppliers, they are Australian-run; value fair, safe and comfortable working conditions; and, of course, are paid living wages. This is a pattern we see time and time again with ethical and sustainable fashion brands, and it’s a pattern that will never, ever go out of style.
Oh, and just because we weren’t already impressed enough (lie), NATALIJA has received nods from the likes of Vogue Australia, Harper’s Bazaar, InStyle, Elle, Marie Claire, and Primer AU, and has graced the figures of celebrities such as Hailey Bieber, Jesinta Franklin, and Anna Heinrich. Whoever said ethical and sustainable fashion isn’t glamorous enough for the red carpet, come at us.

We advocate a slower, more mindful model of fashion, with small thoughtful ranges released every 2 to 3 months that add value to our community in the present moment. The materials sourced are made with respect to people, and have minimal impacts on the environment throughout its production and lifetime after wear. Even the packaging we use to ship our garments is respectful to the environment, using compostable mailer bags and acid-free tissue paper which gently lines the fabric with a neutral ph.
We produce in honesty and to alignment with our principles on human, animal and environmental welfare. Supporting the growth and livelihood of our local industry. We see our suppliers as partners and they are either individual or small, family-run Australian businesses. They share our values of fair conditions, are paid living wages, treat others with dignity, and work in safe and comfortable environments.
We envision a greener future without the environmentally devastating effects of clothing waste. By adapting a made-to-order method of manufacturing, our garments are only produced when they are required, one at a time, rather than in large quantities. So when you place an order with us, you aren’t getting an item that’s been in plastic, sitting around in a warehouse waiting to be sold. You’re getting something made specially for you and only you, and delivered within 2 weeks.
We've always run the business by nurturing and nourishing the value of community. Every woman deserves to feel empowered. It is this belief that drives the brand, from the garments we design to how we give back. That's why we donate $1 from every purchase to Australian charities supporting women that help them make powerful life changes to take back their confidence.
We are committed to providing the greatest degree of transparency we can about each of our pieces. To do so, we celebrate Australian artisans, sharing the stories of the passionate people who make our garments and love what they do. They're so much a part of our lives, as I’m sure we are to theirs.
