Slow

Slow

You know when you listen to podcast interviews and oftentimes there’s a question about the guest’s favourite book, or the book they always give as a gift?

Well, Slow is that book for us.

Brooke McAlary’s story was one of being close to having it all, that was until she was challenged to write her own eulogy in three sentences and she realised she’d been missing out on the things in her life that were of real value.

This book encourages you to take a look at the many aspects of your life where you may have been conditioned by societal expectations of what ‘success’ is—from the jobs we have, to the things we own, to how we spend our time. This book is filled with practical tips merged with the beautiful story of what Brooke uncovered along the way.

It begins with, “Dear Mr & Mrs Jones, I am writing to inform you of my withdrawal from the race to keep up with you,” and that really summarises this book perfectly.

Warning: Slow may challenge the way you think and it may make you question how you’ve lived your life to date, but we have no doubt it’ll also leave you feeling more inspired by the small things, and more content with what you have in this moment than ever before. Just what we all need right now!
