The beauty industry is teaming with countless products that promise to be the ‘life-changing miracle’ to better skin, hair, a better body, even a better life. Lily Tse did, and upon researching the many causes behind breast cancer (a disease prevalent in her family), she discovered some of the ingredients in cosmetic and personal care products were part of the problem. She was shocked to discover that the cosmetics industry was not regulated like the food and drug sectors, and that her lipgloss and shampoo could potentially contain cancer-causing chemicals.
So in 2012, Lily Tse created Think Dirty® and the following year launched a mobile app with more than 68,300 safe alternatives to potentially cancer-causing products.
